Sculpture is not just an object but also a personality that affects and enhances the surroundings in which it inhabits.

With over thirty years of working stone Nicolas’ sculpture has centred itself around the themes of fertility and the wonder of life, expanding upon how something so small as an embryo or a seed can possess so much potential for our future.

All his sculptures are carved through traditional hand carved techniques creating a pace and synthesis best suited for the material. The late Brian Sewell commented “he is a contemporary master of his trade who has always hovered on the brink of fame”.

After studying Fine Art at Wolverhampton it was not long before his work was recognised by the Royal British Society of Sculptors where he was invited to become a member in 1995. Whilst consistently exhibiting sculpture, larger projects for the public and private sector have been undertaken. Recently Nicolas was invited to exhibit at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show where his work can be seen in the FRESH section of the show, stand FR338.
